Dear Wildwood Christian Academy Families:
With just over a week until the “Wildwood FunD Run 2016”, we thought it wise to provide an update on this event and surrounding activities:
- Fund Raising: Hopefully, your kids have been busy soliciting financial pledges/sponsorships (per-lap or exact amount) for their participation in the FunD Run….We’ve heard some great stories of “hard work meeting generosity” so far…. For the purpose of collecting “per-lap” pledges (as well as commemorating their performances), each child will be given a post-race certificate indicating his/her “laps completed” that they can show to their sponsors for “Amount Due” collections. Please remember that all students must return their Pledge Form, along with all pledges collected, no later than Thursday, May 19th in order to be eligible for fund-raising awards.
- FunD Run:There will be three separate “Runs” at Big Canoe’s Wildcat Soccer Field on Friday, May 13th , as part of Wildwood’s Field Day activities….All will be run around a 1/8th-mile oval on the far end of the soccer field……The first will be a 15-minute Run for Pre-K – 1stGraders; next will be a 30-minute Run for 2nd – 5th Graders; and then a 30-minute Run for 6th – 12th Graders…..Since Field Day activities (including FunD Run) will follow 8:30am Baccalaureate Service at the Big Canoe Chapel (and time must be allowed for kids to get to the soccer field from the Chapel, and to change clothes), estimated start-time for the first Run is 10:00am.
- FunD Run T-Shirts: The T-shirts have been delivered earlier than anticipated, so they are available for purchase ($7.00) and pick-up now – sorry for the confusion created by our earlier letter…..And while the kids should NOT wear these terrific tees for Field Day or FunD Run (so as not to interfere with the different color shirts they’ve been asked to wear), they ARE encouraged to wear the FunD Run shirts to school before and after the Run, excepting Chapel days and school field trips.
