All Three Wildwood Odyssey Teams Advance to World Competition ~ Highest Honor Awarded!

Wildwood Christian Academy earned two 1st place and one 2nd place award, as well as the coveted Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award, at the Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament held April 16th in Columbus. Considered the highest honor in Odyssey of the Mind, the Ranatra Fusca acknowledges exceptional creative thinking and risk-taking.   The Wildwood teams’ accomplishments are even more impressive when noting they competed against students from much larger schools such as Queen of Angels Catholic School, Woodward Academy, Sutton Middle School, Fulton Science Academy and Georgia Military College Prep.   An Odyssey of the Mind Board Member commented, "I wanted to say congrats to the Wildwood Christian Teams. Two first places, a second place, and a Ranatra is impressive.”   All three teams from Wildwood will advance to the World Finals to be held at The University of Maryland May 27-30. Winning teams from all over the United States and 25 other countries will compete to become World Champions.   Head of School Lyn Cates stated: “To say that we are thrilled is an understatement! These significant achievements are the direct result of Wildwood’s dedicated coaches, supportive parents and exceptional students. We look forward to competing in the OM World Finals.”    Founded in 1978, Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program whose mission is to provide creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Through solving open-ended problems, students develop creative-thinking skills that can be applied to real-life situations – an important part of Wildwood’s curriculum.
