THANK
YOU
Thank
you to all the parents who helped with Wildwood’s recent
Open House: Beth Davis, Barbi Burris, Mike and Jill
Taylor, Amy Teague, Jonetta Womack, Bill and Patricia
Hopkins, Nancy Fernandez, Kim McCurry, Season Loner, and
Misty Reinhardt. A big Wildwood “Woof” to the faculty
and staff, who helped make this event such a success.
Sally Dozier volunteered her time on Saturday to help
us, and Joe Disharoon was our “handyman extraordinaire,”
who completed countless repairs. Thanks to you both!
Wildwood
appreciates the gift of an outside Wolf thermometer from
the Duffy family. We’ll always know when coats are
needed now.
Bob
Curry volunteered in our PE classes on Monday and
Wednesday. Thanks, Bob!
Thank
you to Joy Smith for arranging our special assembly this
week: Parrots for Pupils.
What
would we do without our trusty helpers for Chapel? Once
again, thanks go to Season Loner for setting up Chapel
and the Upper School students for reassembling the
Dining Hall after Chapel.
HEAD
OF SCHOOL’S COMMENT
As a
follow-up to Wildwood’s Day of the Heart, I wanted to
share comments from a letter sent by Dick Scharf to the
506th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron,
along with the 15 boxes of goodies assembled by our
students:
Yesterday I accepted and mailed 15 boxes of fudge, candy
and assorted goodies
prepared by the kids at
Wildwood
Christian
Academy, a
K-8 school just outside
the gates to Big Canoe. In accepting for your team, I
stated that despite loving your jobs, you all missed
three things: watching your kids learn; seeing great
happy faces with wonderful smiles; and, hearing children
laugh.
I have taken pictures of the load and several of the
personal notes contained in the packages. I hope that
your troopers will know how much effort these
kids put of themselves into the boxes. It was truly
amazing.
I also
thought that you would enjoy reading some of the
responses from members of the 506th:
I'm an Engineer assigned to the 506th ECES and as the OIC of Force
Protection, it was a privilege to witness the joy your
packages brought to the
Force Protection Airman & NCOs. Most are not far removed
from High School and
on their 1st deployment, so this was a pleasant surprise
and a special treat.
I'm
deployed from Robins AFB (in middle GA) and a former
teacher. Having
volunteered my time at a couple of Christian schools in
Macon, your
pictures
were a touch of home for me.
Thank you very much for your generosity.
We
are forever grateful at your generosity, and at the
generosity of the children for remembering us.
It's a very, very special thing to receive goodies from
home, especially when
they come from the hearts and hands of children and
teacher. Thank you!
Wouldn’t you agree that our
students helped these soldiers in Iraq feel supported?
