Extracurricular Activities

 

 

Intramurals

Offered to students in Grades 3 – 8 on Monday afternoons from 3:00 – 4:30. It provides a time for structured outside or inside play activities, rain or shine! There is a nominal fee for Intramurals. Intramurals take place on the Wildwood campus.

Tennis

Offered to students in Kindergarten – 8th Grades one afternoon for about one hour each week. Beginning and intermediate tennis skills are taught. Fall, winter (indoor tennis center) and spring sessions are offered and held at the Big Canoe Tennis Center; the time is TBD. There is a nominal fee for Tennis. Transportation to and from the Big Canoe Tennis Center is the responsibility of the parent.

Golf

Offered to students in Grades 3 – 8 on one afternoon a week from 2:30 – 4:45. Fall and spring sessions are offered and held at the Big Canoe Golf Club. Students learn basic golf skills and etiquette; they also play several holes each week and compete against each other according to their skill level. There is a nominal fee for Golf. Transportation is provided by Wildwood to the Big Canoe Golf Club; parents are responsible for picking up their child at the golf course.

Study Hall

Available to students in Grades 4 – 8 on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:30 – 4:00. Supervision is provided by faculty members. There is no charge for Study Hall.

Swimming

Offered to students in Kindergarten – 8th Grades on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4:00 – 5:00 at the Big Canoe Fitness Center. Students must be able to swim a lap on their own to participate. Instruction in swimming strokes and conditioning prepares the student for competition, which is optional. There is a nominal fee for Swimming. Transportation to and from the Big Canoe Fitness Center is the responsibility of the parent.

Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind is offered to students in Grades 3 – 8. Tryouts are scheduled shortly after school begins. Teams of seven members meet and practice two days a week (TBD) after school as well as on weekends leading up to competition. Team(s) compete at regional, state and world levels.

Strings, piano, Chess Club, and Spanish Club are additional activities that may be offered after school, based on interest.
