Class Representative Team Responsibilities

The Class Representatives are the communication between the teachers, parents and PAC. They are the first line of defense about questions, concerns or ideas that arise from parents. They are to notify either Betsy Eubanks or Lyn Cates, depending on the nature of the question.

• Class Parties and social events – Call and remind parents who have signed up for the parties at least 2 weeks prior to party. This is for Halloween, Valentines and Easter parties. If the blanks are not filled up we can send out e-mails and phone calls to recruit help in those areas.

• Mystery Readers – Notify the teachers of the dates they will have mystery readers and who is coming. Call or email reminders to the readers at least the Friday before. Please remind the readers to be at the classroom by 8:30 am and limit the time to 15 minutes for reading. They may choose their book and may even dress the part and use props. Don’t forget to encourage grandparents, aunts, and uncles, Sunday school teachers, neighbors, older siblings or other special friends to be a mystery reader. We will send out an email to encourage parents from upper classes to fill in spots not yet taken. If you have cancellations or vacancies that you cannot fill, please notify Betsy Eubanks to help you fill that spot.

• We may be called upon to help with communication to parents regarding special projects for each classroom during special events i.e. Teacher Appreciation Day, Thanksgiving Dinner, Silent Auction Gala and Community Service Projects. If so we will get in touch with each of you ASAP so as to give each representative plenty of time to make contacts.
